The Opportunity

We are seeking a Principal In Charge (Architecture) with extensive experience in DSA, K-12, and Education-regulated projects. This pivotal leadership role requires a strategic thinker who can drive business development, foster strong client relationships, and lead high-performing teams. You will be responsible for overseeing complex projects from inception to completion, ensuring excellence in design, compliance, and execution. This position is based in Ontario, CA, with a hybrid work schedule requiring (3) days in the office.


What You’ll Do

Leadership & Team Management

  • Serve as a key leader, mentor, and technical expert within the firm.
  • Direct and manage multiple project teams, ensuring alignment with client goals and firm objectives.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
  • Represent the firm as a thought leader in Education architecture.

Project Oversight & Design Excellence

  • Oversee all phases of Education projects, from concept through construction.
  • Ensure designs meet regulatory requirements, including DSA K-12 standards.
  • Work closely with clients, consultants, and internal teams to develop and execute high-quality, impactful solutions.
  • Maintain strict adherence to budgets, schedules, and deliverables.

Business Development & Client Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with education clients, agencies, and industry partners.
  • Lead project pursuits, from identifying opportunities to securing contracts.
  • Drive strategic growth by expanding the firm’s Education portfolio and market presence.
  • Represent the firm at industry conferences, networking events, and speaking engagements.


What You Bring

  • Licensed Architect (California preferred).
  • 12+ years of experience in architectural practice, with a strong background in Education projects.
  • 5+ years of recent experience working on Education project expertise (DSA, K-12)
  • 2+ years in a senior leadership role, managing teams and driving business development.
  • Strong understanding of Education design, regulatory codes, and architecture trends.
  • Proven ability to develop client relationships and secure new business.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
