About the Role: Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a passion for innovation and sustainability? We’re seeking a Senior MEP Engineer to lead the design, analysis, and execution of cutting-edge mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems for high-impact projects across commercial, multifamily, mixed-use, life sciences, and industrial sectors. Key Responsibilities:

  • Design Leadership: Lead the development of comprehensive MEP systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards, client specifications, and regulatory codes.
  • Technical Oversight: Conduct detailed load calculations, system layouts, and distribution analyses. Ensure precise, timely delivery of MEP design packages, including plans, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Quality Assurance: Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs to confirm alignment with design intent and regulatory standards.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and drafters, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
  • Client Collaboration: Actively engage in project meetings with architects, contractors, and clients, effectively communicating technical information to ensure project goals are met.
  • Interdisciplinary Coordination: Work closely with project teams, architects, and structural engineers to align MEP systems with overall building designs and resolve any conflicts.
  • On-site Oversight: Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress, address technical issues, and enforce quality control measures.
  • Innovation: Stay current on MEP industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to enhance project outcomes and client satisfaction.


Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing Engineering (or related field) from an accredited institution preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in MEP engineering, with a strong track record of leading complex projects from concept to completion.
  • Project Experience: Mixed-Use + Retail, mid-large scale projects
  • Licensure: PE license preferred
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in EngergyPro, Revit, AutoCAD, and design engineering software.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of California building codes and standards relevant to MEP systems.
  • Leadership Abilities: Demonstrated leadership skills with a proven ability to mentor, motivate, and inspire junior team members.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and engage clients.
